A site to check for Pennsylvania ancestors is Accessible Archives. While it seems to focus on Pennsylvania, other states also show up in searches. Names and articles I find here are not usually in my other news archive sources. It's a bit tedious to search and it's pricey at $60 annually, but it's worth a try for eastern ancestors.
